Hi, all, the best buy gift card usually is sent out 4-8 weeks after the instant win or sweepstakes is over. It took a long time to receive mine but I did eventually.

Hey everyone! DetroitTigers- they have extended the program into 2010, so your points will still be valid until at least December of next year. I guess they just haven’t updated that part of the site yet, but they DID extend it. Hope that helps!

ColaGal: I did not get the 4 codes that was posted by Crista. If I did I would have posted a RBM, and thanked her. I have recently used the autorefresh posted by Jordan (I think). But whenever I get a code I always post RBM and a thanks.

Hmm, well thanks for posting back. I guess I’m not really sure what to do here. I don’t want to make people quit using their RSS feeds or whatever, it just sort of gets in the way when I’m trying to tell who might be taking the codes. I wish everyone would just be honest. We don’t ask for anything else in return for all these codes. We spend hours collecting them, and could stop providing them for you at any time. We started this site because it feels nice to help others in our own little way. We really like knowing it makes a difference (such as with Crista’s son’s Christmas present! ) but when someone comes along and takes 4 codes from the same post without so much as a thank you, it really makes me question whether we are helping people who deserve it or not. When I start to feel like we are handing out codes to jerks, it makes me want to shut it down and just keep all these codes for myself.

It’s up to you guys. I’m perfectly fine with waiting. (And to all of you honest, deserving folks out there, I’m really sorry! Please let our lurker know that this annoys everyone, not just me! Thanks for your understanding and patience!)

Thanks, CodeCola. I guess that solves the smaller of the two mysteries! The refresher tool that Jordan talked about awhile back and the RSS feeds must be acting the same way. Even if you aren’t there to see the screen refresh, to my tools, it looks like you were the first one to see a code. Thanks for being honest, I guess I will just have to try to figure out some other way to track lurkers- I don’t want to say nobody can use feeds/auto refreshers. (People will do it anyway, lol.)
Maybe we’ll just start using the “drawing” system again. That way, only people who are on the site and have given their names will be eligible for the code (which will be emailed to them if they ‘win’). Any thoughts? Thanks, guys!

I did not log onto the site until around 12:20pm or so EST. I do use ReloadEvery which automatically reloads the page for me. Even if I am not around. So even though I did go for lunch, my page would still be refreshing and will give an impression that I was around.

I just shut off the refresh on my RSS feed. It wasn’t really helping me see the codes faster, it was more of an easy way to see the most recent post without the slightly longer load time of this website and scrolling to the bottom and all that. But yeah, that doesn’t help solve the problem at hand. I wouldn’t mind the “drawing” system you suggested as long as people who’ve won don’t get entered too frequently and end up winning a lot when others still haven’t gotten a chance or anything. I almost think it’s a better system than the one you have now, ’cause people who are around will get it, but we all have a fair chance without refreshing the page every 3 seconds to see if there’s a new code or something and then scrambling to log in and/or type the code in first ^_^;; Having a drawing seems like a friendly and less stressful (to us) strategy. The only down side is it’s a little more work for the code posters… but I can’t think of any good suggestions right now.

I have to say, though I’m new here and new to coke rewards, this is my favorite code-posting site. You all are very kind and offer up a lot of good info on the rewards program and I like coming here even if when I’m not necessarily looking to get another code. I’d hate to see it stop because of lurkers.

Hey all, wow, a lot has happened today while I was away from my computer! Just read through the 40 or so comments since last night.

I’m not sure either, like Filia, what to suggest to do about these lurkers. Personally, the RSS feed doesn’t even work properly for me, so I don’t use that, nor do I use any automatic page refreshers. I can see how those would make it harder to correctly identify who has been taking these codes and not saying so. However, in the last example, Cola Gal, you identified 4 people that it could be, and 2 of them explicitly denied it was them (Filia and CodeCola), so that only leaves 2 more people. I don’t want to point fingers, but it seems like there can’t be too many options left, especially in the short time before someone says RNBM. Maybe you could just figure out who it is using your webmaster tools in this way more often and people would stop lurking once and for all. Or maybe there were others you didn’t mention or who didn’t register a name on the site who also could’ve gotten the code though?

Either way, Cola Gal, I am amazed if you are willing to put in more effort than you already do to have regular drawings, randomly draw out a winner, and then send out e-mails to the winner. You must have other things to do! By the way, what else do you do? You should tell all of us a little more about yourself, since we all appreciate (I hope) what you do for us so much.

Anyways, sorry for the long post. Cyn, congratulations on winning the last drawing! I now see there will be another drawing at 7. I’d be happy to be entered into it. Thanks again Cola Gal for making this a great site! I too would hate to see it come to an end.

Hi guys! lol @ Coke Fan- I’m cooking my first Thanksgiving dinner this year and I stayed up way too late last night trying to make myself an itinerary so that everything would be ready at the same time. Things are going to be hectic in my tiny kitchen- especially since only 2 of my burners work. I had to make an oven schedule, lol! Right now I’m trying to decide about the pumpkin pie- I’m having to get a store-bought one this year b/c I have too many other things to worry about. (I’m also making cupcakes since it’s my bday!) Anyone have any opinions about one store bought pie versus another? I know they vary in taste greatly so I’m afraid I’ll end up with a bad one… I’ve been reading online that Marie Callender’s is better than Mrs. Smith’s, so we’ll see! I like it when you can actually taste the spices- nutmeg, cloves, yum!
I hope you’re not all as stressed out about this as I am…lol! I guess I should’ve known how much goes into preparing a Thanksgiving dinner! Wish me luck, everyone.

Thanks, Bob & Gavin! It’s so strange when your bday falls on Thanksgiving. The holiday kind of eclipses it, so you really only get one special day instead of two, if that makes sense. I’m making the cupcakes just so it will feel a little bit like my bday. One year when I was little it was also on Thanksgiving and my parents just stuck a candle in our pumpkin pie. It was fun, but I need me some birthday cake lol! It’s my only present this year!

Happy b-t-day CG! I am finally finished baking… pumpkin, cherry & apple pies; blueberry buckle, snickerdoodles, chocolate chip cookies and truffles. Even got the cranberry relish made! Only have to make the stuffing to go tomorrow. We spend the day at my boyfriend’s brother’s house and bake/cook to take most everything with us. Still have to remember to pick up the turkey! Hey all,

Seems like everyone is in a great mood today and it’s fitting with Thanksgiving coming up. I really enjoy reading everyone’s Thanksgiving cooking and preparation stories! Cola Gal, yours is particularly funny with the itineraries/scheduling and such, although I’m sure it’s a lot more stressful for you to do it! How many people are you cooking for?

I’ll wait till the day of to wish you a very happy birthday, although it seems you have started celebrating with your cupcakes and seemingly extra happy mood today (aside from the last code being unclaimed probably frustrating you). I can see how your birthday could be overshadowed by Thanksgiving, so I understand. Keep up the spirit of sharing and giving everyone.

On my end, being a student, I do not do any cooking myself (thank god!) and will probably eat a thanksgiving dinner in a restaurant with my family. Unfortunately, I have all my classes tomorrow but I do get Thursday-Sunday off.

Also, I have collected a lot of codes recently and I haven’t posted any lately, so I wanted to give out plenty of codes in the next few days in the spirit of being grateful for what I have, and giving to the less fortunate. First code coming up soon!

Well, while I was making my last code so puzzling, I missed the last code from you Cola Gal, and it was redeemed not by me! Filia, sorry 4 maKing the last so code so confusing for you. But Just so you knoW, generally iF I capitalize the first letter in a sentence, it is for correctness n0t for the code, since I generally like to type properly gramatically and spell right. So if I capitalize where I shouldn’t it’s probably part of a code, like the letters I have improperly capitalized in this post! The exception is if I put something in quotes like “xx”, meaning it is also paRt of the code even if it wouldn’t be otherwise. HoPe that all makes sense. This is the beginning of the next code and the end of it will be posted wHen the last code is redeemed. Or you could just try guessing the last letter, ha ha.

The last four letters are a run of consecutive consonants, meaning not including a vowel, starting with tHis letter. However, the last three are in reverse alphabetical order, not in the normal order. Go figure that one out!
