ColaGal, I found out that you can share the movie ticket wins with someone else! I mentioned on another forum that “someone I know” had had problems doing that (that’s you, ColaGal) and this is the response I got: “Filia, I think the problem with the movie ticket codes only happens when people try to share the original code received from mycoke. That code has to be redeemed by the person who won it. After it’s redeemed, you get another code to be used at http://www.hollywoodmoviemoney.com/cokecap which can be shared with someone else.”

So if you share the *second* code, then the person can redeem it in their own name.

kat- Hi! *waves* and welcome to the site! We usually do drawings for the ten pointers. When the time comes, I will take comments for an hour or so and use a randomizer to select the winner. Then I email them their code. For the 3 pointers, we usually just post them, first come first served. Sometimes I try to give a few minutes warning, but then while I’m waiting I tend to get distracted and wander off (which is why I haven’t been doing as much of that lately). Some people have luck keeping the page open in another tab while they’re working so they can refresh and check every once in awhile. We wish you the best of luck!!

roberto- Thank you so much for your post and for thinking of us. I went ahead and clicked on the link you sent, and unfortunately, I don’t think I should approve it. [What happened was, he said he had over 200 points worth of codes listed in a text file, and then there was a link to another site where you had to sign up to download the text file. This may be a scam, so I don't want anyone to risk it. I didn't download the file for obvious reasons (you may have to sign up for a paid membership) and there is no way of knowing if there are any codes at all, if it is just a junk post containing a virus, or what. Even if it was legitimate, the first person who downloads it will use all of the codes, leaving none for anyone else. I also have a sneaking suspicion that this is a pyramid scheme site where you try to get as many people as you can to register and you get paid a few cents for every person you get to sign up and download your files.]
Anyway, if this was legitimate, I’m sorry and I really REALLY appreciate your willingness to share so many codes with us!! Maybe next time you could post them here or send me a message so that we can work out a better way to do it. I think everyone appreciates it when many people get a couple of codes instead of one person getting all of them.

HI CG, nice to hear from you, and I’m happy you are there safe and sound, even if you have to help clean house. The program was FANTASTIC, and I didn’t even pass out while giving the welcome speech with my student. The Church was packed and our Pastor did a great job with the Mass. And, the tables in the narthex were jam packed with food donations for the needy.

I’m going to PT with this ruptured Achilles tendon. It’s going well, because the massage and the ultra sound help. And, with the exercises there is no atrophy to my muscles, especially the calf.

I wanted to be sure that everyone knows the following about the Coke points for the end of the year and the beginning of the new year, and the advantage we have to enter codes, especially if you have plenty on hand:

Enter your 120 weekly points by 12:00 midnight tonight, Thursday, December 31st.

Tomorrow begins a new year, so from January 1 (midnight / 12:00 AM) to January 3 (11:59 PM), you again can enter another 120 points.

Then the ANOTHER new week begins on January 4th at midnight.

Please remember that this is all done in the Eastern time zone, so adjust for your own time zone.

can I ask a silly question?

First I have to admit — I was a lurker (never got any codes) for awhile before I actually started getting any codes and posting.

Now for the silly question: do the posts get “looked at” before they are actually posted?

I have seen quite a few people asking to have codes sent to them — are there people on here that actually send them some? I think the “thrill of the chase” gets ruined when people think that just because they ask for codes, that they should get some. I know up top it is noted —– “please don’t ask us to send codes to you individually”

Congratulations! Yes, infact I do have some information that may be of use to you. First of all, the cash cards actually have $25 loaded onto them, even though the website says $20! I just went on to the MCR site to get my free entries using the alternate method. The “good for 5 days” thing is now effective, but it also seems like you can’t enter any of the regular sweepstakes with the free entries. You only get a chance at the instant win games. Well, there’s absolutely no point of storing any of your entries even for a day because you get 5 entries and you can only enter the instant win game 5 times a day anyway! It kind of makes me upset because they didn’t tell us about not being able to put in for the other sweepstakes… ah well, it’s still a free chance at something.

Hey all, congrats to Cat for redeeming my last code. Nice to see new people redeeeming codes.

I had a question for everyone. I recently entered in a handful of codes after I saw (thanks to someone else posting it here) that you could get 20 bonus points for entering 3 or more codes. I checked in my account and it confirmed I could get these bonus points under the “pick up points” section, so I entered in more than 3 codes when I saw that. However, after a few days, my point total is the same as it was before, so no bonus points have been added. Does anyone else know why this is happening or if I should just wait longer, or are others having the same problem? Thanks. I’ll post another code soon.

I received an email back from “Jennifer” which stated that I needed to give it the full 7 days. Hey everyone, hope you are having a nice weekend.
I apologize for not posting more the past couple of weeks. I lost one of my cap resources, so I haven’t had as many points to give away lately. If anybody can help out, we’d really appreciate it! I will keep donating as many points as I can to the site, but it won’t be as many as I was able to donate before. I would really like to keep the site going forever, but as you know, it costs me money each month to run it. As I’m currently unemployed, I’m afraid I’m not sure how much longer I’ll be able to keep it going. I tried to set up an ad revenue program so I could use that to maintain the site, but they rejected me.

Oh well. Like I said, for now, I’m going to keep donating codes but I’m not sure how long I can keep this up. With the loss of one of my code resources, and the added financial strains of unemployment, I’m just not sure how long I can continue without some sort of help.

I have applied to Google a couple of times, but they keep rejecting me and I can’t figure out why! I was thinking about signing up for a different program, but nobody else lets you control what ads go up on your site and where. That is pretty important to me (since we’re a family site, lol!) so I’m not sure what to do. I’ll try applying again, but if anyone else out there has any experience with this, your help is greatly appreciated!!

I have not actually applied for Google ads, but there was a time not too long ago when I researched a bunch of different ad programs.

I just wanted to mention that if ColaGal DOES get accepted into one of those kinds of programs, you SHOULD NOT be clicking it hourly, daily, or probably even weekly!!

Yes, it might generate some revenue, but it might also get ColaGal kicked out of the program!! They monitor what region and town clicks are coming from and if they think you are cheating the system by just asking friends to click it once a day or whatever, they will kick you out and never let you back in.

I hope you are able to find some revenue ColaGal I just wanted to give that warning before it was too late.

Mycode… we got our Guitar Hero in October or November (can’t remember)… but we won early (about a week into) in the promotion so maybe that is why they shipped them out right away. We won on a Saturday and the delivery guy got it to us on the next Saturday… We would have got it Friday except that nobody was home to sign for the package. I have a friend who won as well and he still has not got it yet either.

However, assuming it was 0ljnn6bc5vf7, it would not accept that as a 12-digit code, I’m sure I read it wrong. Hi everyone- just wanted to clarify… I’m in the eastern time zone, so all the times on the site are also eastern. However, the posts show up at the same time for everyone. As soon as I approve a comment, it gets published publicly. So if I posted at 3:00, it was really 2:00 central time but says 3:00 because that’s what time I posted it here.
It gets tricky when someone posts a comment (say at 4:00) but I don’t see it to approve/publish it publicly until later (say 4:30). The comment will say it was written at 4:00, but nobody will be able to see it (except for myself and the author) until I have approved it. So it will show up at 4:30 or whenever I approve, not necessarily when the time on the comment says (or when it was written). Earlier, when I asked who was here, I was approving the comments instantly so that’s why they showed up so quickly. They should have also all showed up for everyone at the same time. This would’ve been 3:05 or so eastern, so in central time (your time) it was only 2:05. I try to check pretty regularly for comments throughout the day, but there are periods of several hours sometimes when I’m sleeping or busy and can’t check. I really appreciate your patience with me!

Phew. That’s also why I try to comment saying, “I’ll post a code in one hour” instead of at a specific time- I know it’s confusing. Sorry for the lengthy response. Remember, you can also find answers to this and many other questions on our FreeCokeCodes F.A.Q. page.

I’ll post another code soon. Wish whoever snagged the last one would admit it!

Hey all,

It’s been awhile since I’ve posted on here. Looks like I missed a couple of codes today again. Too bad to see the last code go unclaimed especially when so many people posted they were here, and you would think one of them would get it and say that they did.

It’s great to see so many people contributing codes to this site, especially in light of your news about not being able to post as many codes anymore, ColaGal.

ColaGal…Thanks for the clarification…mouthful. I do understand the difference in time zones and the difference in when my posts are noted and when I actually post. I also understand that you cannot be at the keyboard at all times. Again, it must be something in my area that causes the lag in posts showing for me.

Cat, try using Ctrl+F5 every once in a while to refresh. That will *really* refresh the site. You see, sometimes when you hit refresh, it’s still just pulling from your cache or something and ends up not really updating. I hope this helps you out!

ColaGal, yesterday and earlier today the site was coming up, then almost immediately going to a 404 error page. Now it seems to stick with loading the page, but I believe it has been “loaded with errors”. The white part with our comments that used to be more centered is now sticking to the left side. I’m at work and using IE7. At home I use IE8 and Google Chrome, but I haven’t logged onto the site from home in a couple days, so I can’t tell you how it was working with those…

Also Cat, Ctrl+F5 is assuming you use a Windows system. I’m sorry, I always forget that I can’t assume that with random people over the internet! And who knows, “Break out of a frame” may have the shortcut of Ctrl+F5. I’m actually not sure what it’s a shortcut to! I just know someone called it “meta refresh” once and that I’ve used it a couple times.

Filia…I am using Windows. The Ctrl F5 may work fine once the glitches are taken out, for now though, I’m getting the 404 error page several times before it finally loads. The Break out of a frame is just a link back to the site.

BTW…did anyone else notice mycokerewards page had the free 20 pts if you enter 3 codes within the next 7 days? It was on the site this morning, but it’s not there now. Just wondering.

I apologize for any issues you’ve been having with the site- I’m not really sure what is going on with it, but I will try my best to fix it ASAP! I was messing with things a bit yesterday (added a site map, link at the bottom) so I probably did something I now need to go undo. not sure if anyone else is having this problem but every time I go to the MCR website it locks up whatever browser I am using completely and I have to end up force quiting. I have tried it now of 3 different browsers… maybe I just need to do a restart but I hate having to reload all of my fonts.

It’s back up today on the page listed where you can pick up points. I don’t know if it was there prior to yesterday though. Make sure ya’ll enter 3 codes between yesterday and today to be on the safe side…and you should get 20 extra points sometime within 7-10 days. If not, send an e-mail and bug them that you posted at least 3 codes while that offer was on their site…it worked for me last time.

Well, there you go…I just gave everyone the opportunity to get 20 points, and you didn’t have to figure out one of my encrypted messages.

Cat, you can always see your own posts as soon as you write them, but ColaGal will not make it public for everyone to see until she comes around and approves it. So, even though you posted at 4:30 and could see your own post, the posts from stephanie and cokegirl hadn’t been posted to the public yet. You are not missing anything.

If you want to really see that for yourself, clear your internet browser’s cache/temporary files. If you do that, you will only see the posts that have been posted publicly. That means you won’t even see your own post because it has not been published publicly yet.

Hi everyone! Hope your week is going well. I apologize for being absent the past few days. I’ve tried my best to keep up with comments- thank you for your patience (and thank you so much, Filia, for answering Cat’s question for me!).
Our landlord has been doing some (very overdue!) repairs on our house and I’ve had to stay out of my computer room most of the day all week. There has also been a lot going on here aside from that- on Tuesday, my neighbor was shot in the chest during a home invasion. She’s pregnant and has other small children, but (thankfully) she is going to be okay. As you might imagine, our neighborhood has become a bit of a police and media circus.
I’m telling you all of this because it will definitely affect my collection of coke caps. I had been getting a huge majority of my caps from recycling bins all over my neighborhood. However, ColaGuy and I have decided that its no longer safe for me to take walks around here by myself. In addition to this incident, there have been several instances of gang violence and other shootings in my neighborhood, and I’ve also just learned we have a few sex offenders in here. Had I known all of this since we moved in a year ago, I would never have taken walks by myself in the first place (and probably never gotten to start the site…).
Anyway, I’m going to have to figure out what to do. I am searching for other sources of caps right now, but it looks like I’m on my own here. I’m also still unemployed and paying money I don’t have to keep this site up and running. I have been trying since the site’s creation to get AdSense approval, but can’t. If I was earning some type of ad revenue to help support the site, it would definitely be worth seeking out another cap resource. However, I’m just not sure it’s worth it. I thought that by doing this, I might somehow improve my life- spread around some good karma and see where it led me. I’ve been building and running the site for six months now, and my situation has not improved. It’s actually gotten worse. I need to start worrying about my own future instead of some stupid coke caps.
*Phew* Sorry about that- didn’t mean to start a rant, but I’m just trying to figure this all out and typing it helps me to organize my thoughts. I will be keeping the site up for now, but I won’t be able to post as many codes as I used to post when I started. Does anyone have any thoughts or suggestions? I’m really scrambling for ideas here…
Thank you all for coming to the site. Even if it’s just to snag free stuff, we still appreciate it (and we apologize for the recent lack of codes!). I’ve “met” a few really great people here, and I don’t want to let anyone down for not being able to keep it up. I NEED A NEW CODE SOURCE AND AN ADSENSE GURU!!

I have a suggestion, ColaGal! You could put up a “donation” button through paypal I’m sure some of us would be happy to pitch in a few dollars here and there to help you out. I mean, it sounds like it’s either that or we lose you and the site… And you’ve already done so much to help us out and keep the site running yourself, it sounds like it’s about time we return the favor!
