Mark- Thanks for the email! I just tried registering a test account and didn’t have any problems, so I’m not sure what exactly is going wrong. I filled out all the required fields, and when I hit submit it said, “You have successfully created your account! To begin using this site you will need to activate your account via the email we have just sent to your address.”

Try using a different email address or username/nickname. Has anyone else figured this one out?? (He is trying to register, but hits submit and it just refreshes the registration page). Sorry I can’t be of more help at the moment, but I’ll look into it and try my best to find a solution for you. In the meantime, you can still participate without registering!

holy cow, I won the gift of gaming IWG!!!!!!!! I had just resigned myself to “I doubt I’ll win but, if it’s meant to happen it will.” and then I got the winning message!! I’m so excited! Also, I won the regular “first prize” not the grand prize, which is fine ’cause I already have a PS3 I think I’m going to pick EA Sports Active 2 ’cause I think it’s something my fiance might actually play with me.

Fanta Man and Jeff68, if you look a little closer you will see that cubbie does not write much better. No sentence structure, no use of capital letters, no punctuation. As a matter of fact, there are several people who visit here that could use a grammar lesson or two. Or perhaps it just a lazy way to write. @Darrell, you are quite right. My comment was not implying cubbie was much better (maybe slightly better). On top of that, his/her statement was non-sequitur (pardon my Latin). Specifically, sobit’s extremely poor writing does not automatically make him a scammer. It might increase the probability of him being scmamer, but that’s it.

It’s sad to me our education system has come to this, where we accept linguistic conventions and slang in writing. I’m confident it’s a consequence of all the texting and tweeting going on. I refuse to be a part of it.

lol @ Jeff68 & Darrell- If you think these latest ones are bad, you should go back and find our friend cocacolagal1212 (who recently changed HIS name to a different one, don’t remember what it is). Not only did he totally steal my name and pose as a girl, each post is one long, dreadful sentence with no punctuation, no grammar, no spelling skills, nada. Those are pretty painful to read (although I’m fairly certain that English isn’t his first language…).

And I don’t blame texting. I blame No Child Left Behind. Efforts to save the few stragglers dumbed-down the curriculum for the rest of the normal students. (And that’s if they even get the curriculum- these days, the curriculum consists of nothing other than ‘This is how you pass your state-mandated, funding-determining yearly tests. Make sure you do well because it could mean your teacher’s job and whether or not your school stays open!’

And we wonder why kids today can’t spell, write in cursive (or write at all, for that matter), do basic math…. the list goes on and on. It’s because the schools aren’t concerned with the actual volume or quality of what children are being taught- they are only concerned with funding. And who can really blame them- they have to be, they have no other choice. I think it’s an extremely detrimental way for the government to determine the resources for our national education system and how they are divided.

And that’s as political as I’m going to allow things to get here, I think. Just had to put in my 2 cents.

Thank you for the friendship add ColaGal…I accept. I am assuming this is your web site? Any who, I was reading through the comments on the site, in particular this post and I could not help but to throw my own two cents in. Most people do not attempt or try to be proper in a comment or post. I personally don’t think some of you should be so pretentious. I don’t think a persons’ intelligence should be based on a comment that may be misspelled, have a lack of grammar, or cannot always be understood. Sometimes when someone makes a comment they may be tired, have other things going on in the background, or simply just not care about how their comment appears. Take me for instance, I am 28, married, have a three year old child, and I am in college for two degrees, but my post didn’t even make much sense. I was tired and I wasn’t paying attention to my typing. This site should be open and welcoming to all, even some of us “lurkers”. These are only my opinions, but I believe people who feel the need to throw “big words” around may be lacking in some area of their own life. Think about it this way, someone who may post something that’s not completely correct may be more adept in other areas of their life that you may be lacking in. Just because they don’t sound as intelligent as you think you are for posting complete sentences with perfect grammar doesn’t make them stupid. I love tweeting and texting by the way :~). So, to all of the people who are not proper in your comments, I say…be yourself!

ColaGal, a long time ago when I was on dial up using AOL, I was blamed for having the same IP as someone else on a board too. What happened in my case is that AOL was dynamically assigning me an IP address every time I logged on… at least I’m pretty sure that’s what happened. I was able to log on to IE and prove that my IP was different between AOL and IE at least. Anyway, the point is that it’s possible for an honest person to get tagged with having multiple IPs and unfortunately I don’t really know enough about it to understand why.
